I have always loved soending time with my family at Daisy Hill. BBQs on an open fire, bush wlaking and seeing the wallabies and kookaburras.
As ive grown older, I spend time noutnain biking and watching my own kids discover those amazing experiences.
And to do it all so close to home is what makes lvigin in around Daisy Hill and Venman National Park so special.
Thats why, together with Environment Minister Steven Miles, I have announced historic funding for Daisy Hill State Forest - $3.3 million in first year funding to begin a 10 year plan which will turn Daisy Hill State Forest into the leading conservation and recreation destination in South East Queensland.
The two stage plan will result in better facilities, a fully upgraded Koala Centre, and world class mountain bike trails right here in the heart of our neighbourhood.
And stage one will be completed in time for the Commonwealth Games, so visitors to our city can actually cuddle a koala.
This announcement is the result of an amazing effort from hundreds of people in our local community.

There is still more work to do. Join the list to make Daisy Hill even better!
