More than a third of us rent our home - some of us because we want to, others because we have to. And that number is growing.
Most rental properties are owned by mum and dad investors, just trying to build a secure financial future.
So both tenants and owners need each other.
Despite this, the laws that govern renting are set in a different century - meaning that many tenants don't get a fair go and some investors are in a risky position.
It's not fair, and we can do better. I want better for my kids than I experienced when I was renting.
That's why today I announced that the Palaszczuk Government has opened doors to renting reform.
And we want to hear from you! To get the ball rolling, we want to understand what really makes a house a home?
Tell us what's working and whats not. Tell us what would really make a difference to you!Whether you rent, if you manage property, or you're an investor, it's time rental laws in Queensland were fair!
