WHY I'M STANDING UP FOR SPRINGWOOD

I first decided to put up my hand as a representative of the residents of Springwood because I wanted to make sure that families in my neighbourhood had good schools and hospitals, that they have access to more teachers and nurses and that the State’s economic investment was good for everyone, not just a few.

After the chaos of the previous Newman LNP Government I wanted to play a role in revitalising frontline services and restoring fairness.

My job as Member for Springwood, is about making sure that government delivers what our community deserves, in both the Redlands and Logan.

We have delivered 1990 more teachers so our kids get a better education, 2390 more nurses so every family can rely on a decent health system.

I grew up in this neighbourhood, and like many of my friends, growing up taught me many important things – but mostly that when you do a job, you roll up your sleeves and you work hard. Since 2015 I’ve been working hard with the people of Logan and the Redlands to help build a better state. And this work is delivering results.

Through my security of payment reforms I’ve been bringing increased job security to working families, especially those working in construction. I am absolutely focussed on implementing a housing strategy that ensures all Queenslanders have a place they can call home.

When it comes to home, getting there sooner is important, which is why delivering the massive upgrades to the M1 and getting the busway extended to our community have been a priority for me, as have the hundreds of locals who've been kept in work on this project.

I am passionate about making sport accessible for families, regardless of their abilities, their location or how much they earn.

And I am still dedicated, one hundred percent, to great schools with lots of great teachers, quality healthcare backed in by health professionals, quality jobs for everyone in our community and services that we can all rely on.

My work is far from over, and I look forward to continuing to work with the constituents of Springwood, and working hard, as I always have, to earn their vote.
