FairPlay Vouchers have been a game-changer for families across Logan, helping thousands of children stay active and involved in local sport. Introduced by Labor, the initiative ensured that every family became eligible for $200 vouchers last year—supporting kids to join a team, stay fit, and enjoy the lifelong benefits of community sport.

Now, there are serious concerns about the future of the program under the Crisafulli Government. Families, clubs, and community leaders are calling for a commitment to continue FairPlay Vouchers, ensuring that no child misses out due to cost-of-living pressures.

“No kid should have to skip sport, and no parent should have to choose between paying for their child’s sport or putting food on the table,” said Mick de Brenni MP. “Labor introduced FairPlay because every child deserves the chance to play, no matter their background or circumstances.”

Local clubs have seen firsthand the positive impact of the program.

“At our club, FairPlay Vouchers meant more kids could sign up and stay involved,” said Mel Cameron from Slacks Creek Football Club. “We saw families who were really struggling light up when they realised their child could still play.”

Christine Bennett from Rochedale Tigers Rugby League echoed that sentiment: “The vouchers helped reduce financial barriers and kept participation numbers strong. It meant our young athletes could keep doing what they love.”

The message from the community is clear: FairPlay Vouchers work. The program supports healthy kids, strong families, and thriving local clubs. The Crisafulli Government must listen and commit to continuing this vital support for Logan families.
